Taksonomi memandu kita melalui keragaman kehidupan di Bumi, membantu kita memahami bagaimana organisme berkaitan satu sama lain.<\/p>\n<h2>Taksonomi dan Hierarchy Tingkatannya<\/h2>\n<p>Taksonomi dalam ilmu biologi terdiri dari beberapa tingkatan, mulai dari yang paling luas hingga yang terperinci, yaitu : <em>kingdom<\/em>, <em>phylum<\/em> (atau <em>division<\/em> dalam botani), <em>class<\/em>, <em>order<\/em>, <em>family<\/em>, <em>genus<\/em>, dan <em>species<\/em>. Semakin kita turun ke tingkatan yang lebih rendah, makin spesifik karakteristik organisme tersebut.<\/p>\n<h2>Keragaman Makhluk Hidup dalam Setiap Takson<\/h2>\n<p>Jumlah makhluk hidup dalam setiap takson bisa sangat berfluktuasi.<\/p>\n<h3><em>Kingdom<\/em><\/h3>\n<p>Ada lima <em>kingdom<\/em> yang termasuk dalam klasifikasi modern menggunakan taksonomi berbasis genetik : <em>Monera<\/em>, <em>Protista<\/em>, <em>Fungi<\/em>, <em>Plantae<\/em>, dan <em>Animalia<\/em>.<\/p>\n<h3><em>Phylum<\/em><\/h3>\n<p>Di dalam <em>kingdom animalia<\/em> saja, terdapat lebih dari 30 <em>phylum<\/em>. Contoh <em>phylum<\/em> dalam <em>kingdom animalia<\/em> adalah Arthropoda (serangga, laba-laba, dll) dan Chordata (vertebrata).
